Blaze Play Three Games, Provide Black Friday Specials
November 23, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bloomington Blaze News Release
The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, are as busy as shoppers at the beginning of the holiday season as they prepare for three games during Thanksgiving week.
The Blaze play three games in three days, but the only road contest involves the first trip of the season to Fort Wayne to face the Komets on Thanksgiving night. The game is the 50th consecutive Thanksgiving contest for the Komets at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Face-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central, and fans can follow the game on WJBC.com and CHL-TV. Fans can also watch all road games at Gill Street Sports Bar and Restaurant, 3002 Gill Street in Bloomington.
U.S. Cellular Coliseum hosts the remaining two games of the week with their own Black Friday specials, as the Blaze return home to face the Dayton Gems on Friday night. The Blaze are 1-2-0 against the Gems, with the only win coming on opening night over the Gems. The Blaze host the CHL-leading Allen Americans on Saturday night in the only matchup between the clubs this season. It's Black Friday weekend, featuring all $14 tickets available for only $7, and $2 beers and $2 hot dogs will be available. Both deals are available for both Friday and Saturday contests.
Once again, the Blaze will be without a leading scorer. Forward Brodie Sheahan (four goals, nine assists, 13 points) is expected to miss the weekend's action with an upper-body injury that developed last weekend. Forward Marc Rechlicz is also unavailable as he remains on the 10-day injured reserve list with an upper-body injury. Forward Kyle Laughlin is expected to return to the lineup after missing four games with concussion-like symptoms, and forward Luke Popko also enters the lineup this weekend for the first time this season after recovering from a pre-season hand injury.
Tickets and more information are available by contacting the Blaze office at 309-434-2980 or by visiting www.bloomingtonblaze.com.
