Blaze Act Like Savages in Trashing of Nuts

Bakersfield Blaze News Release
It has become routine now with the Blaze over the last six weeks that a different face takes center stage to lead the club to victory.
On Sunday night in Modesto, it was Anthony Misiewicz's turn.
Misiewicz (W, 5-6) worked quickly and efficiently with an assortment of pitches as Bakersfield (46-35) completed a 4-game sweep of the Nuts (30-51) by winning 10-1.
It was the sixth consecutive victory for the Blaze, but a deeper look will show you what kind of gaudy numbers the team has tallied up.
Bakersfield completed the 7-game road trip going 6-1, but it also added to the road dominance.
The Blaze have won 16 of their last 17 road contests and 22 of the last 25 away from Sam Lynn Ballpark.
For good measure, the team has also ripped off 13 of their last 15 overall.
With personnel changes coming left and right, Eddie Menchaca's troops continue to light up the win column.
Misiewicz was stingy and tantalizing at times as Modesto never stood a chance. With 4,876 in attendance for baseball and a firework show, Misiewicz made sure his left-arm was the only form of entertainment in town. Misiewicz finished the night having pitched seven innings, surrendering two hits, while striking out five, and walking a batter. The lefty threw 87 pitches before heading to the showers as Thyago Vieira brought home the win.
Offensively Bakersfield again busted the game loose with one big inning.
In the sixth inning and with the road team up 2-0, Ryan Castellani (L, 4-7) got himself into trouble by walking Joe DeCarlo with one out. After two passed balls and a Daniel Torres strike out, Jordan Cowan came to the plate. A hero less than 24 hours prior to Game 4, Cowan delivered again. Cowan's line drive up the middle scored DeCarlo to make it 3-0. After another passed ball, Justin Seager singled home Cowan to push the lead to four. Arby Fields was the final batter Castellani would face and the right-hander walked him before giving way to Yoely Bello.
With Bello inheriting two Castellani's runners, Braden Bishop made things worse for everyone involved.
Bishop lined a ball over first baseman Collin Ferguson's outstretched glove to score Seager and Fields. The lead might have been 6-0, but it seemed like 60-0 with the way Misiewicz and the Blaze were playing.
Gianfranco Wawoe added to the misery in the sixth with an RBI single to score Aaron Barbosa thus adding to a disappointing night for Castellani.
Castellani gave up six earned runs, off of eight hits, despite striking out seven batters, in 5.2 innings.
The Blaze now come home to play on the 4th of July against the High Desert Mavericks. A 4-game series gets underway at 7:45pm with gates opening an hour before first pitch.
