Baltimore Blast News Release
Baltimore, MD - In the fourth match-up between Baltimore and Harrisburg of the 2021-2022 season, the Blast defeated the Heat, 9-3. With William Vanzela still recovering from his injuries from the last time the Blast and Heat met, Mike Zierhoffer would rise to the challenge once again.
The Blast started off the game with an early lead when Jamie Thomas scored the opening goal.
Alexis Robles would quickly answer for the Heat with his first goal of the night. Tony Donatelli recorded his first goal of the night with a strong leading pass from Kalou. Jamie Thomas would return, back-to-back, for his second and third goal of the night, giving the Blast a 3-goal lead.
The Blast dominated possession for the first quarter, outshooting the Heat 12 to 6.
Baltimore would start out the second quarter on the powerplay, but ultimately the Heat would successfully kill the play. With help from Tony Donatelli and Jonatas Melo, Lucas Roque would record his first and second goal of the night, extending the Blast lead 6-1. Ultimately, the Heat would not be able to get another shot off before the end of the first half.
Late into the third quarter, David Mellor would find the back of the net, cutting the Blast lead by one. This would be the only goal of the third quarter. Lucas Roque would answer for the Blast once again, with an assist from Jamie Thomas, extending the Blast lead 7-2. Harrisburg would increase pressure, allowing Malcolm Harris to gain possession and record his first of the night.
The Heat would move to a sixth-attacker offense with Raphael Araujo, but Tony Donatelli would get a fast break and take advantage of the empty net. Harrisburg would switch out their sixth- attacker with Alexis Robles, but ultimately Jonatas Melo would receive a pass from Juan Pereira and extend the Blast lead. The Blast outshot the Heat, 21 to 11. Baltimore defeated Harrisburg, 9-3.
The Blast were led by Jamie Thomas and Lucas Roque both with 3 goals and Tony Donatelli with 2 goals. Juan Pereira with 2 assists. Goalkeeper, Mike Zierhoffer recorded 12 saves.
