Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release

JUPITER, Fla. - Travis Blankenhorn and Alex Kirilloff each blasted two-run homers to lift the Miracle to a 4-1 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads on Tuesday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

Blankenhorn's long ball, his team-leading ninth of the season, opened the scoring in the second inning. Jupiter cut the lead in half with a run in the fourth and it remained 2-1 until the eighth, when Kirilloff hit his two-run shot.

It was Kirilloff's third home run with the Miracle and 16th overall this season. He had three hits in the game to extend his hitting streak to eight games. He is 19-for-32 (.594) with 10 extra-base hits and nine RBI over that span.

Charlie Barnes (5-5) picked up the win for the Miracle. The left-hander went 6.2 innings and allowed just one run, lowering his ERA to 2.82. Barnes is 4-1 with a 1.22 ERA in six second half starts.

Hector Lujan entered the game with the Miracle on top, 2-1, and two out in the seventh. Jupiter had runners on second and third. Lujan walked Anfernee Seymour, but struck out Riley Mahan on a 3-2 high fastball to end the threat.

The Hammerheads put runners on second and third with one out in the ninth against Lujan. With Lujan at 38 pitches, Ryan Mason was summoned from the bullpen. He retired both batters he faced, striking out one, to end the game and record his fifth save.

The rubber game of the series is on Wednesday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet stadium. Right-hander Tyler Wells (7-4) will start for Fort Myers. First pitch is 6:30 p.m.
