
Blake Fiddler Captures Gold at World U-17 Hockey Challenge

Edmonton, AB - Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman Blake Fiddler and Team Canada White captured the gold medal at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in P.E.I. on Saturday, November 11 thanks to a 2-1 overtime win in the gold medal game against Team USA.
Fiddler, 16, finished the tournament with one goal in eight games with his lone goal coming against Team USA in round robin play.
The win for Team Canada White was the first gold medal for Hockey Canada at the tournament since 2015.
Fiddler, a dual citizen, also picked up a silver medal this past summer as the captain of Team USA at the U-17 Five Nations tournament in Czechia.
Through 13 games with the Oil Kings this season, Fiddler has notched one goal. He is expected to rejoin the Oil Kings for their upcoming road trip that begins Wednesday, November 15 in Regina against the Pats.
The Edmonton Oil Kings next home game is Wednesday, November 22 when they welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings to Rogers Place at 7:00 P.M.
