Tonight...

Saskatoon and Brandon open a 6-game season series with a home & home as both teams will travel to Brandon to wrap up the first half of the season tomorrow night. The Blades are looking to extend their win streak to 4 games while the Wheat Kings will try to snap a 2 game skid. The Blades enter the contest with a 9-point lead over the Wheaties in the East Division.

Head to Head...

Strangely, this is just the 1st meeting of the season between these two division rivals... Brandon took last year's season series 6-2; the Blades got both wins on home ice. Kirby Dach (42pts) leads the Blades offense while 19-year-old Brandon captain Stelio Mattheos leads the Wheaties with 44 points. Brandon brings in a better power play at 9th in the league compared to Saskatoon's 16th best. But thanks to the Blades' strong penalty kill, Saskatoon has a combined special teams success rate of 101.1% compared to Brandon's 91.8%.

Who's hot......

Gary Haden is coming off a 5-point night on Tuesday and has 9 points in his last 5GP... Josh Paterson has 6 points in his last 5GP, and newcomer Nolan Kneen has 5 assists in his last 6 games.

The last game...

Gary Haden (9,10,11,12) exploded with a 4-goal, 5-point performance to lead the Blades to a 6-3 win at home over Edmonton on Tuesday. Chase Wouters (4) and Seth Bafaro (4) also scored for the Blades... Nolan Maier made 22 saves in his 16th win of the season. The Wheat Kings are coming off a pair of 5-2 losses last weekend in a home & home with the Prince Albert Raiders.
