Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (7-21-5-1) host the Kamloops Blazers (12-14-2-1) for the first and only time this season on Friday, December 14.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

The ICE are coming off of a 3-1 loss to the Kelowna Rockets on Tuesday, December 11. The ICE received a goal from Cole Muir, assisted by Jakin Smallwood and Jonathan Smart. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 27-of-30 shots. The Rockets got two goals from Leif Mattson and the other from Kyle Topping. Both teams registered 30 shots. The ICE went 0-for-3 on the power play, 1-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 34-of-61 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 20 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.
The ICE have a home record of 5-12-2-0.

The Kamloops Blazers visit the Kootenay ICE for the first and only time this season on Friday, December 14. It is the Blazers first trip to Cranbrook since December 17, 2016. Currently, the Blazers are in the middle of a six-game road swing where they play all six Central Division teams. The Blazers have already faced Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Medicine Hat. The Blazers are 0-3-1-0 on the road trip. The next home game for the Blazers won't be until December 28 against the Kelowna Rockets. Heading into Friday's game, the Blazers are fourth in the B.C. Division and eighth in the Western Conference.
The Blazers are coming off of a 4-2 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday, December 12. The Blazers received goals from Connor Zary and Brodi Stuart, while Martin Lang, Zane Franklin and Orrin Centazzo picked up the assists. Goaltender Dylan Ferguson stopped 31-of-35 shots. The Blazers outshot the Tigers 38-35. They went 0-for-2 on the power play, 5-for-5 on the penalty kill and won 27-of-63 face-offs.
The Blazers have collected 27 points this season, which is good for fourth in the B.C. Division and eighth in the Western Conference.

HEAD TO HEAD
This is the first and only meeting of the season between the ICE and the Blazers. The last time these two teams met was December 3, 2017 in Kamloops, which turned out to be a 4-0 victory for the ICE. The last time these two teams played in Cranbrook was on December 17, 2016, an 8-1 win for the visitors.
