Saskatoon Blades News Release

The Saskatoon Blades (43-14-3-1) have moved up another spot in this week's CHL Top 10 rankings.

The Blades have won 25 games on the road and are approaching a WHL record of 28 road wins in one season, set by the Calgary Hitmen in the 1999-2000 season. The Blades remain 6 points ahead of the surging Brandon Wheat Kings (40-16-3-1). This past week the Blades were humbled by the Tigers 7-1 but rebounded with wins in Swift Current (4-3) and last night in Red Deer (3-0). The shutout was Braden Holtby's 6th of the season, setting a new franchise record for shutouts in one season.

The Blades will face stiff competition tonight as they visit the Calgary Hitmen (51-7-3-1), who are ranked 2nd in the CHL Top 10. It's the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Blades and Hitmen. Saskatoon leads the season series 2-1, and is one of only two teams to win in regulation in Calgary this season.
