
Blades Outshoot Oil Kings but are Broken by Late Goal

In a game that the Blades dominated for nearly 60 minutes, the Edmonton Oil Kings eventually ended up on top with a 4-2 victory despite being outshot 41-23 in the contest.
After falling behind 2-0 after 20 minutes, Saskatoon rallied with 2 goals in the 2nd while outshooting Edmonton 20-5 in the frame. It wasn't until the 16:15 mark of the 3rd period that the game was settled with Brent Raedeke getting the eventual game winner. The Oil Kings added an empty net goal to make the 4-2 final.
Blades goals came off the sticks of Chris Langkow (PP) and Burke Gallimore, each with their 2nd of the season. Derek Hulak picked up assists on both goals with Ryan Funk and Stefan Elliott also picking up helpers.
For the Oil Kings, production came from Craig McCallum, Jeff Lee (ES, EN), and Brent Raedeke.
Braden Holtby, who made his 3rd straight appearance for the Blades, allowed 3 goals on 23 shots. Rookie Cam Lanigan, in just his second career WHL appearance, stopped 39 of 41 shots.
The Blades power play was 1 for 7 on the night while their penalty kill was again strong, going 6 for 7.
