March 13, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release

Tonight - The Saskatoon Blades close out an 8-game season series with the Brandon Wheat Kings at Westoba Place in Brandon. The Blades will look to avenge Saturday's loss to the Wheat Kings when Saskatoon outshot Brandon 31-16. Brandon leads the season series 5-2 and have taken the last 3 meetings. The Blades last win over Brandon was back on Nov. 24th in Saskatoon... both Blades' wins have come on home ice. Braylon Shmyr leads the Blades with 10 points against Brandon this season... fellow 20-year-old Evan Weinger also has 10 points in the series for Brandon.

The opponent - After playing in Saskatoon on Saturday the Wheat Kings made a stop in Moose Jaw on Sunday where they fell 5-3 to the Warriors, snapping a 3-game win streak. With just 3 games left on the schedule, Brandon still has a chance to catch the Regina Pats trailing them by only 3 points. Brandon will also try to fend off the red-hot Prince Albert Raiders who are 4 points behind them.

For Saskatoon - The Blades still have a chance at getting into the post-season as they chase the Prince Albert Raiders who have a 7-point lead in the standings. Each team has 4 games remaining including a home & home with one another to finish the season. Saskatoon needs to win their remaining 4 games and will need the Raiders to lose out.
