OFFENCE BREAKS THROUGH: The Saskatoon Blades ended the Winnipeg ICE's shutout streak but dropped Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Championship 6-2 at Wayne Fleming Arena Saturday.

ICE forward Connor McClennon scored a hat-trick for his club and finished the evening with four points. The Blue and Gold outshot the ICE in the first period once again but trailed by a pair heading into the intermission. The finals shots were 33-29 for the hosts as Saskatoon. WHL Goalie of the Year nominee Daniel Hauser stopped 27, improving to 10-1 in the playoffs.

Rookie Austin Elliott got the nod between the pipes for Saskatoon, allowing five goals on 30 shots. The Strathmore, AB. product sees his record fall to 3-5 during his first trip to the spring dance.

Saskatoon trails 2-0 for a third straight series with games 3 and 4 shifting back home at SaskTel Centre.

NEXT GAME: The Blades are back home for games 3 and 4 Tuesday and Wednesday with a chance to even up the series and avoid going down 3-0 for a second consecutive round.

Puck drop for both games is 7:00pm CST.
