The Winnipeg ICE have taken a 2-0 advantage in the WHL's Eastern Conference Championship Series following a 6-2 victory over the Saskatoon Blades Saturday afternoon at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
Connor McClennon (three goals and one assist), Matthew Savoie (one goal and two assists) and Zach Benson (one goal and two assists) combined for 10 points to lead the attack.
Owen Pederson also scored as Winnipeg outshot Saskatoon 33-29. McClennon led all players in the game with seven shots.
Daniel Hauser made 27 saves improving his personal post season record to 10-1.
Justin Lies and Jayden Wiens replied for the Blades while goaltender Austin Elliott stopped 27 shots.
The ICE went 1/3 on the power play while the visitors were 1/5.
The series now shifts to Saskatoon for Game Three on Tuesday and Game Four on Wednesday.
