Saskatoon Blades News Release
Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades announced several changes to their scouting staff on Wednesday, including the addition of two new scouts in the lower mainland of British Columbia.
Brian Leavold, a retired Captain with the North Vancouver Fire Department, is a veteran WHL scout. He spent nearly 20 years on the staff of the Swift Current Broncos where he was a core member of a staff that helped build the 2018 WHL Champions.
"It's very exciting to have an opportunity to join a club with such exciting times ahead of them," said Leavold. "I'm looking forward to working on a great staff to continue to build for the future."
"Adding someone with Brian's experience, credibility and track record in building relationships is fantastic for our staff," said Dan Tencer. "He's a scout with a great eye, a ton of passion and he will be a huge help to us as we evaluate and recruit players from the lower mainland."
The Blades are very pleased to welcome Brian, his wife Kelly and their kids.
Derek Serraglio, an Officer at BMO Private Banking, is joining a WHL scouting staff for the first time. As a player he spent 3 seasons as one of the top scorers in the PIJHL and he has remained very active in the lower mainland hockey community since hanging up his skates.
The Blades welcome Derek, his wife Amber and son Kayden.
"We've got a wonderful staff of guys who are great scouts and great people and I think Brian and Derek will fit in perfectly," added Tencer.
Kerry Gladson, who is based in White Rock, BC, has resigned from the scouting staff. The Blades would like to thank Kerry for his 4 years of service on their scouting staff and wish him the best moving forward.
