
Blacksher leads Wingnuts to game three win

Wichita, KS- The Wingnuts got a stellar pitching performance from Derek Blacksher, en route to a 5-1 win on Friday Night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Game 3 of the North Division Finals.
Blacksher - who led the league with 11 regular season wins - scattered four hits over 7 and 2/3 innings and walked just one batter while striking out three. The Wingnuts took a 1-0 lead in the third on a sacrifice fly by Josh Horn, and then added two more runs in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Joe Muich and an RBI single by Michael Thompson.
The Wingnuts increased the lead to 5-0 in the fifth on an RBI single by Stephen Pearson. Two runs scored on the play after an error by left fielder Gavin Dickey. Lincoln added an unearned run with two outs in the ninth on an RBI double by Rafael Alvarez. Pearson and Kelly Hunt led the Wingnuts with three hits each.
The Wingnuts now lead the best-of-five series 2-1. Wichita will host Lincoln in game four on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Gabe Medina will get the start. For tickets call the Wingnuts office at (316) 264-4625.
