A terrific pitching performance by Wichita starting pitcher Derek Blacksher leads the Wingnuts to a 5-1 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs. Wichita now leads the series 2-1 and can advance to the league championship series with a win Saturday night. Blacksher went 7 2/3 innings allowing only one walk and four hits while fanning three Lincoln batters. Wingnuts DH Kelly Hunt was the leader offensively going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two stolen bases and two runs scored. 1B Steve Pearson also had a three-hit night with a double and a run scored. Saltdogs RF Rafael Alvarez drove in the team's only run in a 1-for-4 night. In game four, Lincoln will send Justin Knoff to the hill while Wichita counters with Gabe Medina.

Pensacola 12, Fort Worth 4 (Pensacola leads series, 2-1)

It was all Pensacola in this one as the Pelicans rolled out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and would win going away, 12-4. Pensacola 1B Marcos Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored while C Lou Palmisano had a 2-for-3 night with two runs scored and a RBI. SS Dallas Christison added a seventh inning two-run home run to the Pensacola offense. Pelicans starter Kieran Mattison notched his first win of the postseason giving up four hits and four walks in six innings of work. CF Brian Fryer and RF Ryan Patterson each had two hits for Fort Worth in defeat. With the victory, Pensacola leads the series 2-1 and can head to the league championship series with a win on Saturday in game four.
