Blackhawk duo sign with the Beef

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association is pleased to announce the signing of Chuck Wright and George Patterson. Both athletes come to the Omaha Beef after a standout season last year with the Iowa Blackhawks and look to compete for starting jobs with the Beef.
Wright, a 6'2 190 QB out of Dana College impressed the Beef coaching staff during try-outs and will look to earn the starting job in training camp. Last season Chuck led his team to a division title, the league championship game, and threw for 1,119 yards and 23TD's in only 8 games.
"Chuck impressed us immediately with his quick release and understanding of the indoor game," stated Head Coach Robert Fuller. "We believe Chuck is ready to take the next step and we feel like he is capable of doing great things here with the Beef.
Former Weber State running back George Patterson will compete for a starting job in the Beef backfield and may also line up at wide receiver for the Beef. The 6' 205 running back played a variety of positions for the Blackhawks last season and may do the same with the Beef. "George is an amazing athlete and we feel like he can help us at several positions," said Coach Fuller. "George is coming in with a great attitude and just wants to help us win. He is the type of âTeam first' player we are looking for."
Omaha Beef will hold their last try-out this weekend at the Omaha Sports Complex located on 147th and Giles. Saturday's try-out will be from 6-8pm and Sunday's session will run from 10am to noon. Please join the Beef players and coaches at Boston's (8045 S 83rd Avenue in La Vista) Saturday night immediately following the first session.
