Horsemen To Make Community Appearances

LEXINGTON, Ky.- In preparation for the 2006 season, the South Division champion Lexington Horsemen of United Indoor Football will be making several community appearances in the greater Lexington area this weekend, it was announced Wednesday.

The Horsemen will be in attendance at the Scott County vs. Lexington Catholic girls' basketball game, featuring the top two teams in the state, to be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Georgetown, Ky. Several members of the current squad, including J.T. Haskins, Champ Kelly, Harry Lewis, William Mulder and JaQuar Sanders, will be participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

In addition, the Fillies dance team will be appearing at Rupp Arena on Friday and Saturday during Extreme International Ice Racing. Select Horsemen players also will be available for autographs. The ice racing events begin at 7:30 p.m. each day, and fans also will have the opportunity to buy tickets for the upcoming season.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Mike Zuckerman, the Horsemen, who finished with a 12-5 record and a UIF semifinal appearance in 2005, begin their 2006 campaign March 24. Kick-off between Lexington and the Ohio Valley Greyhounds is set for 7:30 p.m. EST in Rupp Arena.
