
Black Wolves Sign Four

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The New England Black Wolves announced today that Ethan Woods has been signed to a three-year contact while Mike Byrne, Brine Rice and Lauchlin Elder have been signed to one-year contracts.
Per team policy, no details were released.
Woods, selected in the third round with the 31st overall pick in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft by the Black Wolves, spent the 2018-19 season as a member of the team's practice squad. The 6-foot-4 goalie spent four seasons in Ontario Junior A with the Barrie Lakeshores with a career save percentage of .714.
Byrne, signed by the Black Wolves on March 27, saw action in one game for New England during the 2018-19 season. He had two loose ball pickups against Rochester on March 31st.
Elder was selected in the third round, 22nd overall, in the 2016 NLL Entry Draft by the Georgia Swarm. He spent the 2017-18 NLL season on the practice squad for the Swarm. The 6-foot-2 Elder played five seasons in Ontario Junior A with the Owen Sound NorthStars and the Burlington Chiefs, scoring 138 points on 73 goals and 65 assists.
Rice was also selected in the 2016 NLL Entry Draft, 51st overall in the sixth round by the Rochester Knighthawks. He was an All-American at Onondaga Community College.
