New England Black Wolves News Release
UNCASVILLE, CT. - The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) announced today that head coach and general manager Glenn Clark has been named one of 23 recipients to be presented the Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award. Hosted by the CAC and Petro-Canada, Clark will officially be awarded the honor during the annual Sport Leadership Awards Gala on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 7-8pm EST on Facebook Live.
In addition to the 23 Coaching Excellence Awards, the virtual gala will also present a Lifetime Achievement Award, Coach Developer Award, National Indigenous Coaching Award and the Sheila Robertson Award.
Each year the gala honors coaches who embody the values of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and their positive impact within the Canadian sport sector. The Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Awards are given to eligible coaches whose team or athletes win a medal at World Championships, Olympic or Paralympic Games, or the Special Olympics World Games in their respective sport. Since 1986, Petro-Canada has honored 1,259 coaches with the award.
Clark is being recognized for Team Canada's win at the FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. In September 2019, he helped lead the Canadian Men's Box Lacrosse Team to its fifth consecutive gold medal with a 19-12 win over the Iroquois Nationals.
"It's a great honor and one that needs to be shared with the entire Team Canada group," Clark said. "Bringing players together from across the country and from multiple organizations is a challenging task. The management, coaches and players managed this task incredibly well."
Clark and his fellow award recipients will be celebrated during a one-hour virtual gala on Thursday evening from 7-8pm EST on Facebook Live. Black Wolves fans, friends and family are welcome to join the virtual celebration on the CAC'S Facebook page. For more information on the coaches and awards visit coach.ca.
