Black Bears Tender Forward Finn McLain and Defenseman Nick Hauck

ODENTON, MD - The Black Bears have used two of their tenders on Forward Finn McLain and Defenseman Nick Hauck. The two signings will attend the Black Bears' main camp over the offseason. The Black Bears continue to successfully acquire young talent that ensures a bright future for the hockey franchise.

Finn McLain ('00) is a 6'2, 210-pound Forward was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia. Finn was at the first ever open camp for the Black Bears last year in New Jersey. Most recently, he played for the Kent School in Kent, Connecticut. The Kent school won their league championship and Finn served as an Alternate Captain.

"We've known about Finn since he caught our eye during our first official open camp last summer in New Jersey," said Maryland Black Bears Head Coach Clint Mylymok. "He is a high-character kid that is coming off a championship season at Kent. Finn is a local kid, and his goal has always been to become a Maryland Black Bear to play Junior A hockey close to home. He has earned this opportunity, and we are happy to have him aboard."

Nick Hauck ('01) is a 6', 185-pound Defenseman that was born and raised in Ham Lake, Minnesota. This past season, he played hockey for Blaine High School, scored three goals, and had 28 assists. Nick added another six assists during Blaine's playoff run, capping an impressive season.

"Nick is a very skilled, competitive defenseman that is coming off a very successful high school season with the Blaine Bengals," said Head Coach Clint Mylymok. "He was a leader on the Bengals and is a young man that brings determination and character to our program. We are excited to bring another great person, and hockey player, to the Maryland Black Bear family."
