Berkshire Black Bears News Release
PITTSFIELD-The Berkshire Black Bears have announced that Field Manager George "Boomer" Scott will host two summer baseball camps at Wahconah Park. The dates for the camps are July 16-18 and August 13-15. Each three-day camp will begin at 9am and run until 1pm with a daily lunch and a ticket to the camp ending Thursday night game included.
Along with "Boomer" several Black Bears players and coaches will participate in the camps that are designed for children aged 8-14. The players will be teaching the basic fundamentals of baseball including hitting, defense, base running, strategy and teamwork. The cost for each camp is $100.00. Advanced registration is required by calling the Berkshire Black Bears main office at 413-448-2255.
Black Bears General Manager Mike Karadmis said, "Calls about our summer camps started coming in before the season even started, so we know they are going to be very popular. The "Boomer" brings over 30 years of professional baseball experience, both playing and managing, to these camps so it is a great opportunity for young ballplayers to learn from one of the best."
