PITTSFIELD- The Berkshire Black Bears played one of their best games of the second half on Wednesday night but came up one run short against the Quebec Les Capitals losing 4-3. The loss is the 5th in a row for the Black Bears who are struggling to find a way to win.

Starting pitcher Doug Dimma put in a strong performance going 5 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs on 5 hits while walking 1 and striking out 5. He was replaced by Matt Bailey who gave up 1 hit over 1 2/3 innings. Ken Henderson came on but he ran into control trouble as he walked the only 2 batters faced. Jim Harrison came on to pitch a perfect 2/3 of an inning. Joe Cotton came on to pitch a scoreless 9th allowing 1 hit while walking 3 and striking out 1 batter. The highlight of the night at the plate for the Black Bears was a solo home run for outfielder Michael Moore in the 8th inning; Moore was also 3 for 4 on the night. He is now third in the Northern League in homeruns. Josh Perich went 2 for 4 with a pair of singles. Ender Gonzalez, Derond Stovall, Scott Allen all had singles on the night. Ryan Nevins came on to pinch hit in the 9th and smashed a double to right center field to start what appeared to be a Black Bears rally but Keith Maxwell then hit into a 5-4-3 double play to end the game.
