Buffalo is coming off a 4-2 homestand that featured a two-game sweep of the Red Sox and a four-game split with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
vs. THE WINGS: The Bisons were just 6-10 against Rochester last season in a back-and-forth rivalry. Neither team won more than two straight in the season series last year. Since returning to the International League, the Bisons hold the 104-87 series edge, including a 50-45 mark in Rochester.
MONSTER GAME: OF JASON PRIDIE had an fantastic game Tuesday against the Yankees, finishing 4-5 with a double, a home run, three runs scored, 5RBI and even a stolen base. It was the first time a Bisons' batter had knocked in five since OF TODD LINDEN plated six on July 31, 2008 in Durham. Pridie has reached base in 10 of 12 games this year for Buffalo and is now tied for the team-lead with 14 hits.
F-MART: OF FERNANDO MARTINEZ enters play tonight with a seven-game hit streak after hitting a single and a home run in yesterday's win. Since April 12, F-Mart has averaged .333 (10-30) with three doubles, a home run, four runs scored and four RBI. With his time with the Bisons in 2009, Martinez now has 31 extra-base hits in 56 career Triple-A games.
HARD-HITTING HESS: INF MIKE HESSMAN tacked on two more doubles and three more RBI yesterday to his impressive start with the Bisons. The slugger now boasts a .359 average, four home runs, eight extra-base hits and 13RBI. He ranks 2nd in the International League with his home runs, RBI and a .769 slugging percentage.
GO GREEN: INF ANDY GREEN has been activated off the disabled list. Green missed the first 12 games of the season with a right hamstring strain. Green played 50 games with the Bisons last season, hitting .259 (45-174) with four home runs and 20RBI. Green missed 79 games last season because of a left oblique strain to begin the year and a fractured left thumb on May 2.
