Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Durham Bulls in the third game of their four-game series from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd has won the first two games of the set, including a dramatic 4-2, 12-inning victory last night, compliments of Jason Cooper's walk-off home run. Looking to make it three straight, the Bisons will turn to RHP Jeremy Guthrie tonight. Guthrie earned a no-decision on last Sunday with six more shutout innings in Columbus. The Bulls will counter with LHP Chris Seddon, who earned a win with seven innings of three-run ball against Ottawa on May 28.

The only time a team scored against him was April 19 when Richmond scored a pair of runs in the 4th inning of a 12-3 Herd win. Since being optioned to Buffalo from Cleveland on May 16, he has thrown 16 consecutive shutout innings. On the season, the Bisons are 6-0 in games started by Guthrie.

CLUTCH COOPER: Outfielder Jason Cooper lifted the Bisons to victory last night with a two-run, walk-off home run with no outs in the 12th inning. Cooper has now hit in six straight games (.240, 6-25) and driven in a run in four straight (5RBI)

HIT STREAKS: Along with Cooper, Kelly Shoppach and Andy Marte both extended their hit streaks in last night's win. Shoppach's stretch is now at six games, during which he has averaged .400 (10-35). Marte has hit .393 (11-28) over his last seven games, raising his season average 23 points from .232 to .255.
