Today's Game

Tonight the Bisons host the Toledo Mud Hens in the first game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off a 2-1 series win over the Durham Bulls to begin this homestand. The Bisons are 11-7 at home this season, tied for the 3rd most home wins in the International League.

vs. the Mud Hens

The Bisons were 3-5 against the Mud Hens last season. This series has been ruled by the home team in recent years, as the Herd is 44-34 against Toledo in Buffalo and just 21-31 at Fifth Third Field. The Bisons have not won a season series against the Hens since 2008 (5-3)

Scott Copeland

RHP SCOTT COPELAND brings the 5th-best ERA into tonight's contest. The righty has posted a 1.74 ERA in five games, with four quality starts to his record. The righty allowed just two runs over six innings last Friday in Norfolk in a game the Tides eventually won in 14 innings. Opponents are hitting just .173 off Copeland (2nd in IL).

Matt Hague

INF MATT HAGUE now stands alone with the longest hit streak in the International League this season. Hague has hit in 14 straight, with a .333 (19-57) average and a .387 on-base pct. since April 29. Hague has added three doubles, six RBI and five runs scored during his hot stretch at the plate.

Andy Burns

INF ANDY BURNS brings an eight-game hit streak into tonight's game. The Triple-A rookie has hit .290 (9-31) since the stretch began May 6 with four doubles, an RBI, four walks and two runs scored. Burns has reached base in 19 of his 22 games with a .354 on-base pct. since being promoted to the team on April 16.

Felix Doubront

LHP FELIX DOUBRONT made a successful debut on Wednesday. The veteran retired at Bisons' season-high 14 consecutive batters, allowing just a hit and a walk in five innings. To make room on the roster for him, LHP LUIS PEREZ was transferred to New Hampshire (AA).

Home Run Watch

The Bisons have just one Triple-A home run this year on their roster, belonging to INF MATT HAGUE. Buffalo has not hit a homer in 614 at-bats, a stretch that goes back to April 25.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (17-17) lost 6-1 in Baltimore last night. The Orioles took two of three from Toronto. Former Bison RHP Aaron Sanchez allowed five runs in 5.2 innings to fall to 3-3 on the season. Toronto is in Houston tonight (8:10 p.m.) for the start of a four-game series with the Astros.
