TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Rochester Red Wings in the first game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). Tonight's contest also starts an eight-game homestand for the Herd as the Syracuse Chiefs will come to town, May 1-4. Buffalo is coming off a convincing 12-1 win on Wednesday in Lehigh Valley that capped a 4-2 roadtrip.

vs. RED WINGS: The Bisons are 2-2 this season against the Red Wings after splitting the first series in Rochester, April 7-10. At 4-3, Buffalo leads the 2012 Thruway Series by just a half a game over Syracuse (4-4) and a full game over the Red Wings (4-5). The Herd won six of eight games over Rochester at Coca-Cola Field last season.

WE ARE FAMILIA: RHP JEURYS FAMILIA will be facing the Red Wings for the first time this season. The right-hander toes the rubber for the fifth time this year and third start at home. Familia is coming off of a strong performance on Sunday as he struck out eight batters in five innings of a 6-1 victory over Syracuse in the first game of a doubleheader.

MLB REHAB: Mets' OF ANDRES TORRES has joined the Bisons for a Major League rehab assignment. Torres suffered a left calf strain in his New York debut on April 5. He was placed on the disabled list the next day by the Mets. Torres played three games with St. Lucie (A) this week and hit .333 (4-12).

NEW FACES: The Bisons have activated OF FRED LEWIS and INF BRAD EMAUS today. Both players were signed by the Mets on Wednesday. Emaus played 14 games with New York in 2011 before posting a .313 (51-163) average in 45 games with Colorado Springs (AAA). Lewis hit .230 (42-183) in 81 games with the Reds last season.

BISONS BITS: After not having a pitcher homer for more than 17 years, the Bisons got longballs from RHP DYLAN OWEN on Monday and RHP MATT HARVEY on Wednesday in Lehigh Valley...INF JOSH SATIN collected four hits on Wednesday and finished the roadtrip with a .409 (9-22) average in six games...INF VALENTINO PASCUCCI now owns the longest hitting streak of the season for the Herd sitting at 10 games (15-45, .333).

METS UPDATE : The Mets (11-8) defeated the Marlins, 3-2, last night at Citi Field. Former Bisons LHP JON NIESE was stellar as he struck out six over seven innings in a no decision. Former Bisons OF KIRK NIEUWENHUIS hit the game-winning RBI-single in the ninth inning. The Mets are in Colorado tonight for a tilt with the Rockies (8:40 p.m.).
