Buffalo Bisons News Release

The International League today announced that Buffalo Bisons INF MATT HAGUE has been named the League?s Player of the Month for July.

Along with recipients from other leagues, Hague will receive an award from Minor League Baseball in recognition of his performance last month.

Hague hit .376 in July and led the International League with 44 hits and 27 RBI. Eleven of his hits went for extra?bases, including four long balls, as he sparked the Bisons to the League?s best record for the month at 19?10. During the seventeen July games in which he collected multiple hits, the Bisons went 14?3. Hague was elected to be the starting third baseman for the IL squad at the Triple?A All?Star Game in Omaha on July 15, where his first inning RBI single led the way to a 4?3 International League victory.

For the season, Hague is comfortably pacing the circuit in several offensive categories including batting average (.349; next highest is .328), hits (144; next highest is 115), total bases (195; next highest is 179), on?base percentage (.429; next highest is .383), and RBI (75; next highest is 67).

Buffalo?s Chris Colabello was the IL Player of the Month in April, which when combined with Hague?s award make the Bisons the first team to win multiple IL Player of the Month honors in the same season since Rochester in 2008 (Francisco Liriano, July; Garrett Jones, August).
