Today's Game
This evening, the Bisons begin a seven-game road trip against a pair of International League North Division opponents. Buffalo begins their season series against Lehigh Valley tonight (7:05 p.m.). After four games in Allentown, PA, the team will head to Pawtucket for their second season series at McCoy Stadium. The Herd have a scheduled off day before beginning a homestand on May 18.

RHP Deck McGuire turned in his second straight eight inning start, and the Bisons' offense did its part early. A six-run third inning was capped off by a C Danny Jansen 2RBI double off of LHP Dietrich Enns. The Herd chased the left hander in the third, they would add more insurance in the seventh. OF Dwight Smith Jr. was 3-3 with 2BB. He also added his 15th RBI of the season, tied for the team lead with Jansen.
Today's Starter: RHP Chris Rowley
RHP Chris Rowley is making his fifth start for the Bisons and is in search of his fourth victory of the season. The right hander worked a season best seven innings in his last start May 5 vs. Syracuse. Rowley gave up one unearned run, the second time in 2018 he did not surrender an earned run in four starts. He also recorded his second straight quality start in defeating the Chiefs.
Lehigh Valley (0-0)
The Bisons and IronPigs are meeting for the first four times this season. The IL North foes will meet a total of 18 times in 2018. Lehigh Valley will make their first trip to Coca-Cola Field June 22-24, one of just two trips to Buffalo this season. Buffalo went 0-7 in Allentown in 2017, and have not won at Coca-Cola Park since 8/29/16.
Danny Jansen
C Danny Jansen was 1-4 on Wednesday, but drove in a pair of runs on his lone hit in the win over Rochester. The two RBI upped his season total to 15, putting him into a tie with OF Dwight Smith Jr. for the team lead.
Dwight Smith Jr.
OF Dwight Smith Jr reached base all five times he appeared at the plate on Wednesday. He now has 23 hits on the season after going 3-3 with 2BB, with the outfielder's batting average increasing by 30 points to .291. Smith Jr.'s OBP also sits at .389 entering play on Thursday. He added a stolen base, and now has four on the season.
Roemon Fields
OF Roemon Fields increased his team lead in stolen bases to six on Wednesday. Fields not only led the IL with 43 steals in 2017, he also set a Bisons Modern Era record by breaking Tony Womack's mark of 41 steals in 1994.
Bisons Bits
Buffalo notched their first winning homestand of 2018 by going 5-2 against Syracuse and Rochester...The Herd have hit just 1 home run in May after slugging 14 in April...Buffalo's four-game sweep of Syracuse was the first for the team since 4/16/15-4/19/15 against Lehigh Valley.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (20-17) bounced back with a 5-2 win over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. OF Teoscar Hernandez was 3-4 with an RBI in the win, while RHP Ryan Tepera notched his third win of the season in relief. LHP J.A. Happ starts tonight in the finale of the three game series (7:07 p.m.). The Boston Red Sox round out the homestand with a three game series Friday through Sunday in Toronto.
