Today's Game

This evening the Bisons continue on their season opening seven-game homestand. Buffalo welcomes the Pawtucket Red Sox for their first trip to Sahlen Field on the season. The teams will play three games before meeting at McCoy Stadium next week.

Last Game: BUF 2, S/W-B 10

Mike Ford became the first opponent to hit three home runs at Sahlen Field in more than 20 years to lead the RailRiders offense. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre hit six home runs as a team to cash in 10 runs against the Herd's pitching staff. Cavan Biggio's 2nd home run of the season extended his hitting streak to four straight games in the loss, as well.

Pawtucket (0-0)

The Bisons went 9-11 against the Boston Red Sox top affiliate in 2018. The PawSox went 6-5 against the Herd in Buffalo last season, in addition to a winning record at McCoy Stadium. Pawtucket will make three trips to Sahlen Field this season.

Today's Starter

David Paulino was acquired last year at the non-waiver trading deadline from the Houston Astros. The right hander spent August on the Disabled List, before being activated by the Blue Jays on September 5th. Paulino made seven total relief appearances with Toronto before the end of the 2018 season.

Cavan Biggio

Triple-A rookie Cavan Biggio reached base three total times on Sunday with a home run and two walks. Biggio now has a hit in all four games of the season, with a .500 batting average. He also carries a .647 OBP into the second series of the 2019 season.

Transactions

Prior to Sunday's game the RHP Jason Adam was placed on the 7-Day Injured List, retroactive to 4/5. As a result, RHP Conor Fisk was assigned from Extended Spring Training and re-joined the Bisons.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (3-8) received another quality start by Marcus Stroman, however the offense could not take advantage. The Blue Jays dropped all four games in the series against the Cleveland Indians, on Sunday by a 3-1 score. Former Bisons backstop Danny Jansen collected his first RBI of the season, coming in the 9th inning. Billy McKinney and Freddy Galvis had the only other hits off of Cleveland pitching in the loss. The team will now enjoy a day off in Boston before taking on the Red Sox on Tuesday. It is a two-game series with a pair of off days for the team in New England.
