Bisons Announce Opening Day Festivities

The Buffalo Bisons today announced their Opening Day festivities at Dunn Tire Park for Friday, April 11 against the Toledo Mud Hens at 6:05 p.m.
The Bisons' first home game in the 123rd season of professional baseball in Buffalo will be a fridaynightbash!®, with pre-game Plaza Party and a post game Fireworks Show, presented by HSBC Bank USA, N.A.
"There's just something special about opening up the beautiful Dunn Tire Park for the first time each season," said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manager of the Buffalo Bisons. "We're anxious to get the 'Year of the Bisons Fan' underway with all the ceremony and pageantry of Opening Day."
Friday's events will begin with the pre-game Plaza Party at 4:30 p.m., located outside the Dunn Tire Park Box Office on the Swan St. side of the building. Admission is FREE for the plaza party with no game ticket needed. There will be $3 food specials on hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian Sausages and 16 oz. beer ($2 Coca-cola products are also available). Live music will be provided by Pirate Dreams¸ a Jimmy Buffet cover band.
All Fans will receive a 2008 Bisons Magnetic Schedule, presented by AIG, upon entering the gates (open at 5:00 p.m.). Pre-game festivities will include military tributes and the Bisons have invited more than 200 family members of the Niagara Falls Air Force Base 914th. Ceremony pitches will be thrown by Mayor Byron W. Brown, the 58th Mayor of the City of Buffalo, and SSgt John Glyshaw of the 914th, back from deployment in Kirkuk, Iraq in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom.
During to the game, the Bisons Prize Patrol will start their season of giving with several giveaways. While one lucky fan will receive a Nintendo Wii gaming system, the Prize Patrol has a special announcement to all fans in attendance.
A post game Fireworks Show, presented by HSBC Bank USA, N.A. will conclude the first Bisons home game of the 2008 season.
