
Bison Sign Defenseman Mason Wheeler

Bloomington, Ill. - Bloomington Bison Head Coach and VP of Hockey Operations, Phillip Barski, announced today that the team has signed defenseman Mason Wheeler to a standard player contract.
Wheeler, 24, played four years of collegiate hockey at Minnesota State University (Mankato), where he served as captain this season. The left-shot blue liner recorded one goal and nine points in 40 games with a +10 rating this season and won his third CCHA title.
The Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota native skated in 153 career NCAA Division-I games and recorded 25 points (2g-23a) with a +46 rating.
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Wheeler played two seasons with the USHL's Tri-City Storm and appeared in 92 games.
