Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

Another week, another game in Bismarck. Except this time, the outcome wasn't quite what the Jets wanted.

Rob Luna scored with 2:04 remaining in overtime to lift the Bismarck Bobcats to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Fargo-Moorhead Jets before 1,150 fans in Bismarck on Saturday, September 25.

The Jets received a point for the overtime loss and see their record move to 1-0-1, good for three points.

Fargo-Moorhead did have a chance to win the game in regulation, and were clinging to a 4-3 lead throughout the third period. However, Nick Schneider tied the game for Bismarck with a power play goal at 18:40.

It was Bismarck's first power play goal in 12 attempts on the night. In fact, the Jets spent most of the game in a penalty kill situation, amassing 52 penalty minutes. The Bobcats finished 1-for-14 on the power play and are only 1-for-21 in the first two games of the season.

The loss spoiled a three-point night from veteran Chris Myhro (Eden Prairie, Minnesota). Myhro scored a pair of second period goals, and also assisted on a Brent Olson (Baudette, Minnesota) goal in the first period.

Tom Dickhudt (Woodbury, MN) tallied a goal as well for the Jets.

The game was the second in a season-opening stretch of three consecutive Saturday nights in Bismarck. The Jets go back to the state capital on Saturday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m.

The Jets released the names for their team captain, and alternate captains late last week.

Forward Dain Prewitt (Westminster, Colorado) was selected as the captain, while forward Tom Dickhudt (Woodbury, Minnesota) and defenseman Creighton Scarpone (Buchanan, Michigan) were named as the alternates. Voting for captains was done by the players.

"I'm very pleased with our selections," said head coach Todd Knott. "These are three very good guys to lead this team."

All three of the players are in their second season with the Jets. Last season, Prewitt had 16 goals and 16 assists. Dickhudt added 13 goals and 24 assists. Meanwhile, Scarpone had two goals and two assists.

This Week's Schedule: Saturday, October 2 at Bismarck Bobcats, 7:00 p.m. The Jets will practice from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. all this week at the Fargo SW Arena.
