Texas Tornado News Release
Nobody said it was going to be easy.
After being down early 1-0, the Texas Tornado fought their way back to stay perfect on the young season with a 2-1 win over the pesky Wichita Falls Wildcats.
Despite outshooting the 'Cats 16-5 in the 1st period, the Tornado trailed 1-0 after a Wichita Falls power play goal.
Karl Sellan would tie the game in the second period on a rebound chance in front after some hard work from linemates Brad Cooper and Tom Train.
The third period was defensive-minded, both teams not giving an inch. But with a little more than three minutes remaining Train pinched down low and converted on a loose puck that was sitting in the crease. Train put it home and sent the 3,733 fans into a frenzy.
Tornado goaltender Ben Bishop was solid the entire night, needing to make only 16 saves on 17 shots, allowing the lone power play goal.
The Tornado winning streak moves to 21 straight regular season and post season games.
