St. Louis Bandits News Release

The Bandits traveled to Springfield, Missouri on opening weekend and started the season off with a nail-biter.

Steve Bandurski, off an assist by goalie Riley Gill (who stopped 22 of 25 shots), scored the winning goal with eight seconds left in overtime to lift the Bandits to an important road win.

Two second year Bandits, Anthony Becker and Josh Leonard combined to open the scoring for Texarkana, with Becker scoring the goal in the first period.

Colby Jones, another returning Bandit, got an assist from Matt Suggs to knot the game at 2-2 early in the third period, and then Cody Donati from Becker and another Bandit vet, Pat Galivan, tied the game again midway through the third.

Despite falling behind 5-1 the next night, the Bandits mounted a furious comeback with three third period goals, but lost to Springfield despite outshooting them 35-18, to split the two-game series.
