Fairbanks defenseman Matt Case has been selected as the Week #2 Sherwood NAHL Defensive Player of the Week. An NAHL rookie, Case totaled five points in three games against the Minnesota Blizzard, as the Ice Dogs won two of the three games.
His two power play goals on Thursday opened the scoring in Fairbanks 6-1 win. He followed that up with two assists on Friday, one on the game's first goal and one on a third period insurance goal. On Saturday, he blocked two shots and set up a third period goal that brought the Ice Dogs within one of the lead, although the Blizzard eventually scored into an empty net to seal the victory.
