Biscuits Walk-Off Then Get Shutout in Twin-Bill

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (61-65, 24-32) split a double-header with the Mississippi Braves (70-56, 32-24) by walking-off with a 5-4 win in game one then dropping game two 4-0 Monday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

In game one, the Braves rallied from a 3-0 deficit to take a 4-3 lead with an Omar Luna RBI-single in the ninth inning. In the bottom half of the inning, the Biscuit were down to their last out with runners on the corners. Shawn O'Malley slapped a single to center to tie the game followed by a Mikie Mahtook single to score Ryan Brett and give the Biscuits a 5-4 win.

Montgomery jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings. Curt Casali drove in a run in the first then Mayo Acosta crushed a two-run homer in the third.

The Braves scored two runs with a Christian Bethancourt double in the fifth inning. Luna was able to tie the game with a groundball that resulted in double-play in the seventh inning but also scored a run.

Game two was controlled by the Braves from the get-go. Mississippi plated a run in the first then led off the second and third innings with home runs to lead 3-0. The Braves tacked-on their final run with an RBI-single from Greg Golson in the sixth inning.

The Biscuits were held to two hits.

The middle-game is Tuesday night at 7:05. RHP Jake Thompson will be on the hill for the Biscuits while the Braves will send out RHP Aaron Northcraft.
