MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Starter Heath Rollins allowed one unearned run in six innings while J.T. Hall added three hits and two RBI leading the Montgomery Biscuits (69-67, 35-31) to a 7-2 victory over the Jacksonville Suns (65-72, 32-35) in front of 6,789 at Riverwalk Stadium.
The loss snapped the Jacksonville win streak at a season-best seven games. Montgomery's victory was their first at home against Jacksonville during 2008. The current series is tied one game each.
With the score deadlocked 1-1, Montgomery broke it open with a five-run third inning against Suns reliever Danny Muegge (0-5). One-run singles from J.T. Hall and Craig Albernaz were followed later by a three-run double from Pat Cottrell for a 6-1 Biscuits lead. A Hall sacrifice fly in the fourth inning opened a 7-1 advantage.
Muegge allowed six earned runs, eleven hits and two walks over four relief innings. Montgomery starter Heath Rollins (1-1) lasted six innings with one unearned runs, seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts for the victory.
Jacksonville's Andrew Lambo capped off a four-for-four night with a ninth inning, leadoff homerun, his third in Double-A, to end the scoring at 7-2.
Jacksonville starting pitcher Jesus Castillo dealt 43 pitches over two innings in his first start since August 1 (oblique). Suns catcher/first baseman Kelley Gulledge made his first career pitching appearance, dealing a perfect eighth inning including two strikeouts.
