Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (44-44/9-9) stranded eleven runners on base and could not come back from a six-run deficit in a 6-3 loss to the Mississippi Braves (50-37/11-7) on Sunday evening at Riverwalk Stadium.
With the Biscuits trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Montgomery started to rally with consecutive-RBI-singles from Taylor Motter then Cameron Seitzer. With Luke Maile at the plate representing the tying run and the bases loaded, Ryne Harper got Maile to foul out to end the threat and keep the Braves with a 6-2 lead.
The Braves started the scoring in the second inning with four-straight singles to plate two runs. In the fifth inning, the Braves scored four times. Kyle Wren stole home. Daniel Castro drove in two with a double. Barrett Kleinknecht capped the inning with an RBI-double.
Alejandro Segovia brought the Biscuits within three with a solo home run in the eighth inning.
The Biscuits stranded at least one runner in every inning except the fourth and ninth innings when the Biscuits went down in order.
Game four of the series is Monday night at 7:05. RH Victor Mateo will look for his ninth win. RH Ryan Weber will get the start for the Braves.
