GREENVILLE, SC--The Montgomery Biscuits scored three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to take game one of a four game series against the Greenville Braves 8-4 Tuesday night in front of 1,782 at Municipal Stadium. The win gave the Biscuits their first three game win streak of the season and broke up the G-Braves four game home win streak.

The Biscuits got to G-Braves starter Paul Byrd (1-1) for a run in the second inning. Jose Velazquez reached on a lead off walk, and went to third on a Dan Dement double. An infield ground out from Matt Bowser plated Velazquez.

An Iker Franco two-out, three run homerun in the fourth made it 4-0. But, Greenville responded with a pair of their own in the bottom half of the frame against Scott Autrey (3-4). Brent Butler led off with a double, and Bill McCarthy then beat out an infield single. An opposite field double to right from Andy Marte brought in Butler, and Tony Pena cut the Biscuits lead in half with a flyout.

After facing one batter in the fifth and throwing just 62 of his scheduled 90 pitches, Byrd was lifted from the game as he felt tightness in his elbow. Zach Miner entered in relief and allowed three runs to score on two hits, two groundouts, and a walk.

The G-Braves battled back again with two runs in the bottom of the fifth on three infield hits and an error, but that would be all they would get. Montgomery scored one in the eighth to cap off scoring.

Chris Flinn pitched the final four innings, allowing only one hit, to earn his first save of the season.
