Sevierville, Tenn. - Mike Dzurilla hit a three-run homer and Ronny Cedeno drove in the go ahead run with a single in the fourth inning as West Tennessee (22-16) won its fifth straight against Tennessee with a 5-4 victory Tuesday night at Smokies Park.

The Smokies struck first with three runs in the second inning against starter Renyel Pinto. Pinto walked a pair before Shaun Boyd singled home Corey Erickson. Jon Hamilton's sacrifice fly scored Johnson, and Boyd came home on a Papo Bolivar single.

Tennessee (20-19) threatened in the late innings but left four stranded over the final three frames.

Jordan Gerk (1-0) worked 1 2/3 innings for the win, while Smokies starter Chris Narveson (0-5) suffered the loss.

Jermain Van Buren earned his ninth save.

Wednesday night Brad Thompson (6-0, 0.00) will be looking to establish a minor league record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched as he takes the mound for the eighth time this season. Good seats remain for Wednesday's game and can be purchased by calling the Smokies at 286-2300.
