
Birmingham Squadron Partner with Cool Green Trees for Community Event

BIRMINGHAM, Ala - The Birmingham Squadron is set for a tree-planting event in Birmingham's Norwood community on Feb. 8 from 1-4 p.m. and invites fans and community members to join Squadron players in transforming the neighborhood.
The event is set to be held at Norwood Community Center, located at 1330 28th Street North in Birmingham in collaboration with the Birmingham Parks and Recreation Board. All fans are invited to attend the event and meet Squadron players who will also be on site planting trees.
Cool Green Trees is a two-year-old program which aims to combat climate change in communities living in Urban Heat Islands, hot spots in our communities leading to health disparities and environmental challenges.
"We want to send a huge thank you to the Birmingham Squadron for partnering with us for a tree planting event," said Grace Dugger, Cool Green Trees program director. "The Squadron's dedication to making a positive environmental impact is deeply appreciated."
Cool Green Trees is dedicated to fostering a greener, more sustainable future by planting trees that helps combat climate change, restore ecosystems and create healthier quality of life. Cool Green Trees thrives through the collaboration of neighborhoods, organizations, and government partnerships in Jefferson County.
The Squadron's next home contest at Legacy Arena at the BJCC is slated for Thursday, Feb. 6 when the team celebrates 205 Night, presented by Morris Bart Law Firm.
