Delmarva Shorebirds News Release
Hagerstown, Md.- Behind Joe Nowicki's three hits and three RBI and Zach Britton's masterful six innings on the mound, the Shorebirds raced past the Suns 8-2, sweeping the four game series in Hagerstown. Although Delmarva trailed 1-0 after five innings on Saturday night, the road team rallied for two in the sixth, four in the seventh, and two more in the eighth to improve their record to a perfect 6-0 in Hagerstown this season.
Hagerstown's Aaron Seuss had two home runs for the Suns, but the rest of the offense was quieted by the trio of Britton, Brian Parker, and Brett Bordes.
Offensively, Wally Crancer and Kieron Pope contributed multi-hit games as the Shorebirds rallied late for their first four-game sweep of the season.
With a day off on Sunday, the Shorebirds return to the field at home on Monday for a first-place showdown with the Lake County Captains.
