
Birds Can't Overcome Abreu's Big Night

Sioux Falls, SD - Willie Abreu finished Friday night's contest with five RBI as Kansas City topped the Canaries 6-1 at Sioux Falls Stadium.
Abreu cleared the bases with a two-out, three-run double in the top of the second inning and homered with a runner on base in the fourth.
Trey Michalczewski put Sioux Falls on the board with a two-out solo shot in the bottom half but Kansas City cashed in on a two-out throwing error in the eighth inning to get the run back.
Nate Garkow allowed an unearned run over five innings of relief to highlight the Birds, who drop to 24-40 overall. Sioux Falls looks to even the series Saturday night at 6:05pm.
