Oconomowoc, WI - Former big leaguer Alex McRae threw eight shutout innings Thursday night to help Lake Country top Sioux Falls 5-0 in the two team's series finale at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.
A pair of leadoff walks in the bottom of the first inning turned into two DockHounds runs and TJ Bennett belted a two-run homerun with two outs in the fifth. Lake Country added an insurance run in the eighth inning and Carlos Diaz faced the minimum in the ninth to the DockHounds clinch the series.
Five different Canaries recorded a hit as the Birds drop to 30-45 overall. The same two teams open a three-game series Friday night in Sioux Falls.
