Owen Sound Attack News Release
Rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington may not have got the call to suit up for team Ontario at the World Under 17, but after being named the emergency relief goaltender for the entire tournament, the call was bound to come sooner or later. Early this morning, the 16 year old net minder received a call to suit up for Team Atlantic in Timmins, ON at the World Under 17 Challenge. Although Binnington will not be in Timmins in time to suit up for the Atlantic game this afternoon, he will be in uniform for tomorrow's game against the Russians.
The Atlantic team, made up of primarily Tier 2, QMJHL and Prep School players has dropped their opening two games by scores of 7-0 and 10-4.
In Binnington's place, the Attack has called up Paul Claxton from the Golden Horseshoe Junior "B" Hockey League.
The Attack wishes Jordan the best of luck in representing his team and country at the World Under 17 Challenge.
