Helena Brewers News Release
Billings, MT - Hoping to get within two games of first place Billings in the final game against them in 2018, the Helena Brewers got pounced on in the third inning by the Mustangs. Billings send 10 men to the plate, scoring seven in the inning, with the back breaker coming on a grand slam from Leonardo Seminati. The Mustangs scored 13 in the game, winning 13-3 and moving back to four games in front of the Brewers for first place.
Billings got on the board in the third with five straight singles against Joel Pinto to start the frame, scoring three runs. With Dylan Harris about to come to the plate, the umpires called for a rain delay. The rain had been falling the entire inning, but the field got too wet to continue.
The delay lasted for 45 minutes, and when play resumed, there were two runners on as Harris sacrificed them both into scoring position. Tate Budnick, the new pitcher for Helena, then walked Juan Martinez to load the bases for Leonardo Seminati, who golfed out a curveball to left field for a grand slam, the first home run of his career, to extend the Billings lead to 7-0.
Billings scored six more times in the game, and Helena's offense came on a solo home run from David Fry, a triple from Bryan Torres, and an error. In eight games played in 2018 at Dehler Park, the Brewers only scored more than three runs once.
The Brewers have tomorrow off and return to action Tuesday for their final regular season home stand. Tuesday is Blackfoot River Brewing Night, with discounts on beer from Blackfoot River Brewing. It is also Montana Tech Night, with Montana Tech alumni getting in for $3 with an alumni ID. For more information and tickets, visit helenabrewers.net.
