Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, Nev.- Reno's Danny Green and Donald Sloan each recorded a double-double Saturday, but the Utah Flash jumped in front early and never relinquished the lead, topping the Bighorns 100-90 in the Reno Events Center.

The Utah victory forces a weekend split, after the Bighorns defeated the Flash on Friday night.

The Bighorns (26-16) ran out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first quarter, but Utah (24-16) answered with a 10-0 run, taking a lead it would not let slip away. After Reno trailed by 16 after three periods of play, the Bighorns chipped away at the deficit in the fourth quarter, but ultimately ran out of time.

Green scored 18 points and added a game-high 14 rebounds for the 'Horns, while Sloan chipped-in 12 points and 11 assists. Marcus Landry paced five Bighorns in double figures with 19 points. Reno shot 41 percent from the floor and 16.7 percent from beyond the arc on Saturday.

All five Flash starters registered double figures on the night, with Kevin Kruger leading the way with 18 points thanks to a perfect night beyond the arc (3-for-3) and from the stripe (3-for-3). Tony Gaffney added 13 points, 10 boards and four steals.

Reno outrebounded the Flash 44-39 and forced 18 Utah turnovers. Three different Utah players hit at least two three-pointers, and the Flash shot 60 percent (9-for-15) from beyond the arc as a team.

With the regular season nearing an end and just three home games left on the slate, the Bighorns return to the Reno Events Center on Wednesday night to face the Erie Bayhawks. Tip-time is set for 7 p.m. PT. Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased by calling (775) 284-2622 or visiting ticketmaster.com or the Silver Legacy box office.
