
Bighorns Fall to Austin in Close Game

CEDAR PARK, Tex., Feb. 26, 2015- Despite a dominate first half by the Bighorns, they took a 112-104 loss to the Austin Spurs Thursday night in Cedar Park, TX.
Tajuan Porter paced the Bighorns with 27 points and two assists. Bighorns newcomer Reggie Moore netted 18 points for the Bighorns and added four assists. David Wear followed Moore closely with 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Jonathan Simmons led the Spurs with 24 points, five rebounds and four assists. Orlando Johnson tallied 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Jarell Eddie totaled 19 points for the Spurs.
During the first quarter, Melvin Johnson led the Bighorns with six points. Ra'Shad James, Moore and Porter netted five points each. Wear and James both added three assists each in the first quarter.
The Bighorns held the lead over the Spurs throughout the entire second quarter. Moore led the Bighorns with eight points and two assists in the quarter. Porter netted six points while Wear added five points and two assists. Ty Walker added three rebounds for the Bighorns in the second.
The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half leading the Spurs 59-50. Moore went 5-8 from the field and 2-3 from the paint in the first half while Bighorns Center Sim Bhullar went 2-2 from the field during the first half in play.
The Bighorns went 23-49 (46.9%) from the field in the first half compared to the Spurs' 18-42 (42.9%). The Bighorns also outshot the Spurs from behind the arc, going 9-20 (45.0%) while the Spurs went 6-16 (37.5%) from the three-point line.
In the third quarter, Wear and James led the Bighorns with six points each. Wear added two rebounds for the Bighorns in the quarter while Porter and Moore notched five points each.
Porter led the Bighorns during the final quarter in play with 11 points. Newly acquired Reggie Hearn had two points during the final quarter while Wear, Walker and James added points two each. Wear had two boards in the fourth.
The Bighorns return the Reno Events Center this Saturday, Feb. 28 to face the Oklahoma City Blue at 7 p.m. The Bighorns will offer a collectable bobblehead featuring Bighorns dunking star, Ra'Shad James to the first 1500 fans in attendance.
