Bighorns Fall In Iowa, 100-98

DES MOINES, Iowa-Patrick O'Bryant and Mo Charlo had double-doubles for Reno, but the Iowa Energy outlasted the Bighorns on Saturday night inside Wells Fargo Arena, 100-98.

Reno (15-10) held a 46-41 halftime lead, but Iowa (18-7) would outscore Reno 30-23 in the third to take a two-point lead into the final period. Iowa led by as many as eight points in the fourth, but the Bighorns chipped away, cutting the lead to two with a chance to tie on their final possession. But Patrick Ewing, Jr. missed two shots in the game's final 10 seconds, giving Iowa the victory in the first game of this weekend back-to-back.

Charlo had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the ‘Horns, while O'Bryant had 15 points and 12 boards in his first start of the season. Jeremy Lin fell just shy of a triple-double, notching 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Reno fell despite its bench outscoring Iowa's reserves by a 41-7 margin.

Othyus Jeffers, Michael Haynes and Courtney Sims all recorded double-doubles for Iowa, leading the Energy to a 55-49 rebounding advantage. Energy guard Curtis Stinson played all 48 minutes, scoring 22 points and adding six rebounds, nine assists and five steals.

Reno continues its road trip Sunday afternoon in Des Moines in the second game of the weekend back-to-back. Tip-time is set for 2 p.m. PT., and the game can be seen live on NBA Futurecast at nba.com/dleague.
