Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX - The Texas Legends let an eight point fourth quarter lead slip away as the Reno Bighorns prevail on their home court 105-103.
Booker Woodfox supplied 22 points in his first start of the season making nine of 18 attempts, but was unable to get a shot off at the buzzer as the Bighorn's Cedric Bozeman soared in to block the final shot.
Bozeman was exceptional on both ends of the court providing a game high 24 points, game high two steals, and game altering block. Texas had two players register double-doubles, starter Ramon Dyer with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while the recently acquired Jamine Peterson ripped down a team high 12 rebounds and contributed 17 points off the bench.
Reno distributed the ball beautifully as six players scored in double figures on 26 total assists. The Bighorns shot the ball extremely well at 50.6%, but it was the free throw line that made the difference in the game. The Legends 29 personal fouls led to 37 attempts from the charity stripe for Reno, Texas attempted only 17 free throws.
Vance Cooksey was solid at the point guard position dishing out seven assists, while scoring 17 points.
Texas (1-4) will quickly regroup and travel to Bakersfield to face the Jam (4-1) tomorrow night at 9:00PM CST in the Jam Events Center.
